Pet owners are being warned to watch their pets like they would their own children to avoid having to claim on their pet insurance policy, Simply Pet Insurance can reveal this week.
Members of the British Vet Association are dispensing new advice designed to reduce the number of unecessary or avoidable pet insurance claims in the wake of a surge in fresh claims across the country. And top of the agenda is a call for more pet owners to be vigilant in watching where their favourite pets go and how they behave.
New figures suggest that as many as 13% or pets have been injured while playing in the paddling pool with their ‘families’ – and while we may think they are having the time of their lives it pays to keep take a slightly more concerned view of their activities to avoid costly trips to the vets.
The advice is to treat your dog, cat or other animal as you would your children when it comes to playing in or outside as you are then much more aware of any potential hazards and dangers.
